POLICE last night charged the daughter of an elderly couple with murder after their skeletal remains were found under the floor of thefamily’s southwestern Sydney home.
The bodies of Tudor Llewellyn Jones, 78, and his wife, Della, 79, were left under the house in Ingleburn for more than a year.
Karen Leslie Kramer, 42, was last night charged with two counts of murder.
It is alleged the woman killed the couple after a verbal fight on January 21, 2003.
Ms Kramer is believed to have lived in the house during the entire period the bodies were decomposing underneath the house.
The lawns had been neatly mowed and the single-storey blonde- brick house was well maintained. Vents around the home had been covered so no smell could be detected.
Ms Kramer reportedly told neighbours both her parents had died while in Britain on holiday.
Residents in the quiet street said they suspected nothing and that the elderly couple largely kept to themselves.
Police found the bodies after receiving a call from a relative in England who had tried for several months to make contact with thecouple.
Macquarie Fields local area commander Mark Rattenbury would not provide specific details about the call but said similar calls over welfare were often received about elderly people who had not been seen for some time.
The call was received here at the police station by our desk sergeant and we’ve made contact there and subsequently located theskeletal remains under the house.”
Ms Kramer was last night refused bail and is to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today.
