THE shopping frenzy, which retailers estimate will top $33 billion this Christmas, continues today with the traditional Boxing Day sales.
Despite successive interest rate rises and higher food prices, it seems little can stop Australians spending big at this time of year.
David Jones group general manager Paul Zahra described consumer sentiment as “very, very positive”.

The retailer is expecting tens of thousands of customers to take advantage of what the company is promoting as “huge sales on big- name brands in every department”.
