LESS than 12 months before the Athens Olympics, the federal Government has upgraded travel warnings to Greece.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade yesterday warned Australian travellers to be aware of the increased threat of terrorism globally and to monitor official travel advice on the government website.
Australians planning to go tothe2004 Olympics in Athens are being encouraged to get access to travel advice updates.Australiansin Greece are warned to be alert to their own security.
The advice warns that demonstrations are commonplace and have been known to become violent.
Travel warnings to Germany have also been upgraded.
